In the above paragraphs have been set out

briefly some of the considerations against which

the grant of financial and other assistance to the

University should, in the Secretary of State's

opinion, be viewed.

When the Council's delegation

visits Hong Kong University next spring, it will

have a full opportunity of discussion with the

University authorities of certain projects for

rehabilitation and the provision of other

essential needs, and with the considerations set out

above in mind, Mr. Creech Jones trusts that the

Council's goodwill and support may be assured for

such recommendations as its visitors may see fit to

make on their return.
